Explosion Venting – Engine Exhaust Gases
Circular Flameless Vent – Self Reclosing
The EVM Circular Flameless Vent is ideal for gas explosion venting inside production buildings where the threat comes from an explosion within the exhaust of a large gas fuelled engine.
The EVM Vent comprises a spring loaded valve plate, valve seat and flame quenching filter element. During an explosion, the pressure wave acts upon the valve plate causing it to open. This allows the flame to enter the quenching chamber. Here, pressure is allowed to dissipate through the flame quenching filter but the flame itself cannot pass. Once the explosion has extinguished, the valve plate returns to its operating position.
After an explosion the EVM Vent can be re-
- Reduced explosion pressures 0.2 to 3.0 barg
- Kg values up to 100 bar.m/s
- Sizes DN300 to DN700
- Stainless steel construction
